Emma and Mitchel are a pair of blind Peking ducks that are long term residents at Wellington Bird Rehabilitation Trust.
Emma arrived in March of 2019 with a injured leg. Although Emma's leg is manageable she will always be blind and requires special care. Emma lives in the safety of our blind bird aviary with other birds that suffer from the same condition.
In April 2020 Mitchel arrived as another of our blind birds to be cared for. Emma and Mitchel had an instant connection and are now inseparable. Mitchel watches over Emma and she's shown a massive improvement since his arrival, it's astounding to watch the bond between the pair as they enjoy their quiet life together.
Mitchel and Emma will likely remain in our care for the reminder of their days together.
By sponsoring Emma and Mitchel you contribute to their ongoing care and the care of other blind birds here at Wellington Bird Rehabilitation trust.
