Hop arrived at Wellington Bird Rehabilitation Trust in November 2020 with a foot missing.
After being assessed, Hop was quickly sent to the vet to have his leg safely amputated and retuned to us to for rehabilitation. Hope has taken to one legged life swimmingly and will soon join our flock of one legged ducks on the lawn.
WBRT has approximately twenty one legged ducks on site that are in constant care. They live happily on the property lawn and are allowed into a specially designed one legged duck feeder a few times a day to eat without having to compete with the two legged ducks or any other birds.
Sponsoring Hop is not only contributing to his care and recovery, but also the constant upkeep of all our one legged ducks who are permanent residence here at the WBRT.
